About Us

Adoption Counts is a family business we started after our adoption.  In 2007 we (Tim and Sandra Nardoni) adopted two hard to place children from the foster care system and began the process of helping those children feel a part of the family.  In our journey, we learned many things about ourselves and about parenting children with trauma histories that we knew would be helpful for other families struggling to raise kids exhibiting severe behaviors.  When we discovered techniques that put our children on the road to healing and all but eliminated the violent and aggressive behaviors our kids had been plagued with for years, we decided to start mentoring adoptive parents who were in need of help.  Because we are a homeschooling family, our most extensive resource is a mentoring site that helps parents home educate children with severe behaviors.  However, we also offer links to resources that have been helpful to us on our journey to parent with understanding and the mercy of Christ.
